The Tell Tale Heart Short Story

The Tell Tale Heart Story appears to be a bragging concession of a man who has committed a crime he keeps averring that he’s not crazy which makes him feel more so he explains how he’d to kill his neighbor because of the old man’s evil eye which bothered him each night for a week he’d sluggishly open the door to the old man’s apartment and looking on him sleeping since he didn’t see the eye he did not kill him on the eighth night as he was gaping in at night the narrator chuckles at the toad of the man not knowing what he was doing and maybe the old one heard it because he is startled awake he asked if anyone was there the narrator set after staying a long while he decided to open the lantern a bitsy bit and a single shaft fell upon the old man’s eye the narrator could hear the old man’s heart beating in fear the beating came louder until the narrator stressed the neighbors would hear it so he decided that he’d take this moment to attack the old man squalled formerly before the narrator pulled him to the bottom and pulled the bed on top of him he awaited until the beating heart stopped also pulled off the bed and examined the body the old man was dead veritably precisely he dismembered the body in a hogshead to collect blood also buried the pieces under the floorboards he washed everything precisely and finished around four in the morning a nut came at the door and he plant three bobbies who had been called due to this strange shrink eavesdropped by some neighbors wondering if foul play were involved the narrator calmly invited the bobbies inside and encouraged them to search the place he explained that the old man was out in the country and that he was the bone who had screamed due to a bedroom in his supreme confidence the narrator indeed brought chairpersons in the room on the top of the floorboards where he’d buried the man and invited them to sit down and rest his own president was placed directly over the body as they talked the narrator began to hear a noise coming from the floorboards he honored it as the beating heart of the old man he tried to talk louder to cover it up and wondered if the bobby could hear it too he knew they must hear it and they had to suspect what he’d done eventually he could not take it presently and told them to tear up the floorboards to find the dead body.
